Everybody knows how much we love a fireworks video. We’ve brought you all the videos from this year’s Firework Champions – look through our blog or view them on the Firework Champions Vimeo page – while you can keep up to date with all our activities and latest display videos by liking our Facebook page and checking out our own Vimeo channel.
In the past we’ve also brought you some incredible fireworks videos, including the below one of fireworks from the perspective of a drone camera.
Today we’re going to look at something a little different, this time at time lapse videos of fireworks. We’ve picked out five of our favourites, and we hope you enjoy them as much as we did!
1. Sydney 2010-11 New Year’s Eve Fireworks
Sydney’s New Year fireworks are famous around the world and always seen on the news on December 31st due to the city being one of the first places to welcome the New Year.
While Sydney’s fireworks are always incredible to watch in real time, they’re also great fun as a time lapse. Check out the below video from the city’s celebrations to welcome in 2011.
2. Bastille Day 2013
Bastille Day is a major day of celebration in France. That day’s Tour de France stage is always an entertaining one with several French riders competing to win, while in the evening the fireworks come out and the whole country enjoys themselves.
The below video is a great time lapse from 2013; if you visit the Vimeo page in the link beneath the video you’ll even get some tips for creating your own fireworks time lapse videos!

3. DaNang Fireworks 2013
The DaNang International Fireworks Competition is always popular, attracting thousands of visitors to Vietnam for what is always a loud and colourful event. DaNang sees some of the biggest and best fireworks displays held anywhere in the world outside of sporting events, July the Fourth, and New Year’s Eve, and the below video showcases a time lapse of an incredible display in 2013.
4. Lewes Bonfire Night Celebration 2014
The Bonfire Night event and celebration held in Lewes, East Sussex, is one of the best known in the United Kingdom, regularly attracting thousands of visitors to the town on November 5th. This event is so popular there are concerns that the planned strikes by Southern Rail around Bonfire Night this year are going to prevent many people from attending and robbing the event of some of its usually buoyant atmosphere.
The below video is a brilliant time lapse of the town’s festivities in 2014.
5. Republic Day of Turkey 2013
Istanbul is a great city, and the below firework time lapse video, from Turkey’s Republic Day in 2013, is fantastic. Republic Day in Turkey falls on October 28th each year, so we’ll be back with any great firework videos in early November!

Honourable Mention
An honourable mention goes to Aaron Keigher – unfortunately we cannot embed the video here – but his time lapse video of Los Angeles’ fireworks from Fourth of July is well worth a watch. A time lapse firework video from a different perspective to say the least!
