Firework Champions 2016 reaches its penultimate stop this coming weekend on Saturday 3rd September, heading into the beautiful Herefordshire countryside to Eastnor Castle. Eastnor Castle is found in the southern reaches of the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and is just a short drive from the popular market town of Ledbury.
Eastnor Castle itself is a spectacular venue. As well as the Castle itself to explore there are stunning gardens, plenty of things for children to do including the challenge of the Knight’s Maze, with the Land Rover Experience a favourite among adults.
As you can tell, there’s plenty to do at Eastnor Castle and in the surrounding areas. Whether you want to spend the day in a Ledbury pub, walking the Malvern Hills and enjoying some of the best views that part of the world has to offer, or taking in the grounds of Eastnor Castle, it’s easy to make a day or even a weekend of it. Not a bad way to end the summer at all!
Firework Champions 2016 at Eastnor Castle
As with the other Firework Champions events, the festivities kick off at 5pm, with gates opening from 4pm for anyone staying at the campsite for the night after the event has finished.
Fairground rides and refreshment stalls are found on the site, while you can also simply relax and enjoy the surroundings and music.
The firework related activity begins at 9pm with a real time pyromusical choreography lesson from Firework Champions organizers MLE Pyrotechnics, who will be demonstrating a small selection of fireworks and discussing how they’re used within pyromusical displays.
Once this is finished, the evening’s competition begins at 9:30pm with displays from the three entrants. Which three fireworks teams are performing at Firework Champions Eastnor Castle?
F1 Pyrotechnics
Three time consecutive winners of Firework Champions and the 2015 British Musical Fireworks Championships winners, F1 Pyrotechnics have built a reputation as one of the finest firing teams in the United Kingdom, and are likely to be the team to beat at Eastnor Castle.
Two Tigers Fireworks
Two Tigers Fireworks, from Okehampton, are entering their first fireworks competition since 2010. Despite being, in their own words, out of practice at fireworks competitions, their last one in 2010 was Firework Champions at Eastnor Castle, and they won! No doubt Two Tigers Fireworks are hoping to pick up where they left off, and having hinted at providing a disco theme this is sure to be a display worth seeing!
Flashpoint Fireworks
Flashpoint Fireworks, from Guildford, are also previous winners, taking home the spoils back in 2009.
With all three teams previous winners, and one of them on an extended Firework Champions winning streak, it promises to be a great event.
