The event is going to offer you four nights of fun in Blackpool. The first three will be dedicated to the competition, with each team having their own night to impress the audience with the fireworks.
The teams have not yet been announced but the dates are as follows, with one team competing on each evening:

  • Friday 8th September
  • Friday 15th September
  • Friday 22nd September

The fireworks display on each night will begin at 8:30 pm. Of course, there will be plenty of things happening right before this – the whole afternoon and evening will be action-packed.
Now, the World Fireworks Championship 2017 event will have a grand finale on September 29th, which is going to be another Friday night full of firework magic. The night is for announcing the winner and there will be a special celebration display to enjoy.
You can find more information about the event from the official tourism site for Blackpool. Don’t forget to keep an eye on the official social media accounts, where you can find out the teams as soon as they are announced.

What to expect from World Fireworks Championship 2017?

All the four nights are bound to offer plenty of excitement and fun for the whole family. The event admission is free but you will need to make your way to the Tower Festival Headland Promenade early enough to get a good viewing spot. The whole of the pier will give you a good view of the display but such a big gathering of people is going to cause few traffic delays.
Aside from the stunning fireworks displays you’ll get to enjoy, the Blackpool Illuminations will also be on throughout September. You don’t want to miss these beautiful illuminations along the pier. The famous illustrations will also include 3D projection shows this year – a feast of visual entertainment!
In terms of fireworks, below is a little taster of what’s to come. Last year, Rozzi’s Fireworks from the USA took home the top spot in a tight competition with the teams from Australia and Slovakia.
