Where to Celebrate 4th of July in London

Burgers, beer and fireworks – those are what a good 4th of July is made off. We here at Firework Crazy get excited about everything that ends with a proper fireworks show and therefore, we can’t help but be excited about the American Independence Day.
Now, just because we are in the UK doesn’t mean we can’t get in on the fun. There are plenty of things to do around the country, especially in London. So, here’s where you can celebrate 4th of July in the capital city.

Annual American Independence Day Picnic in Portman Square

The Democrats Abroad organisation has been running a 4th of July picnic for years in Portman Square and it’s a worthy way to celebrate the day. The picnic starts at noon with early bird tickets going for £10, with concession rates in place for children. The picnic will feature plenty of tasty, American-inspired food and there are activities for kids to enjoy. Since 4th of July falls on a Tuesday in 2017, the picnic is organised on 2nd of July – so keep this in mind.

Independence Day Party at Benjamin Franklin House

Benjamin Franklin House

What better way to celebrate American Independence than at the world’s only remaining Franklin house? The Benjamin Franklin House organises an annual garden party to commemorate the occasion. The event requires you to book a ticket but there are a few daytime slots to choose from. You’ll get to enjoy cake and bubbly, and even participate in a 4th of July quiz.

Comedy Carnival’s Fourth of July Show at Bar Rumba

If you are looking for a laugh, Bar Rumba is organising a fantastic night of stand-up on 4th of July. The stage will be set for US comedians, including Russell Hicks and Dave Fulton. Of course, you also have the bar to keep you going as well and there will be an after party until 3 am once the comedy stops – laughter will hopefully continue! The tickets are on sale and you can book reserved seating for £16, with a £14 general admission.

London 4th Of July Celebration at Goat DINE

You could also head out to Goat DINE in Fulham for some live music and drinks. Goat is organising a proper 4th of July party with beer, bourbon and classic American foods. A live band will be entertaining at the start of the night, with DJ Foxy turning up the volume as clocks turn 9 pm. The ticket prices start at £10.

Eat out at American diners across London

The Blues Kitchen in Camden - geograph.org.uk - 3898713

Of course, you can celebrate 4th of July in the numerous American-style restaurants across the capital city. Blues Kitchen Camden is definitely worth trying on the day, with the kitchen cooking up magic like catfish jambalaya and BBQ ribs. You will also get your money’s worth of 4th of July treats in Balthazar in the heart of Covent Garden. The 4th of July brunch is popular so you want to book your table as soon as possible.
If you can’t make it to London on 4th of July, you could just throw a big party at home. This way you even get to organise a traditional 4th of July fireworks display with some of the goodies available in our online store.
