1. Swanland firework celebration saved by organisers
A 50-year-old fireworks tradition in Swanland, East Yorkshire, was saved after organisers. Hull Wyke Round Table had been running the event at Humberdale Farm, but they pulled out last month due to safety and traffic concerns.Ā
Ā
The event, which was said to attract more than 5,000 attendees, was then saved by a group of volunteers, including Freya Butler, a chairwoman of Newport Young Farmers.Ā
Ā
They promised a bigger and better show, hoping for good weather. Even though the original organisers cancelled due to a lack of volunteers, the community came together to ensure the fireworks display would go ahead, and the event was a great success.Ā

2. Ashbrooke Sports Club brings back their beloved celebrations.
Ashbrooke Sports Club in Sunderland hosted its fireworks display for the first time in eight years in partnership with the Red Sky Foundation charity.
Once attracting up to 4,000 visitors, the event was the cityās largest but had been cancelled in 2016 due to competition from other events.
Ā
This yearās event was a huge success, with all tickets selling out, highlighting strong community support. The club plans to continue the event for at least five more years. Ticket sales from the fireworks display will help fund the purchase of defibrillators for the local community and provide counselling and financial support for families.

3. Million-signature petition calls for tighter firework regulations
Julie Doorne, who has been campaigning for greater restrictions on fireworks since 2013, is set to present a petition to Downing Street with over a million signatures for a petition.Ā
Ā
The petition, which has seen support from the RSPCA, calls for fireworks to be limited to specific dates, such as bonfire night rather than any day of the year, as well as for the legal noise level of fireworks to be reduced from 120 decibels to 97 decibels.Ā The petition also asks for public fireworks displays to require a license.Ā
Ā
Doorne believes that fireworks should only be used on certain occasions, as unexpected fireworks can cause stress for pets and people. However, the British Fireworks Association disagrees. Limiting fireworks could harm cultural celebrations and lead to illegal fireworks being sold. What do you think about the current laws regarding fireworks? Do you think there should be tighter restrictions?

4. Red Pandaās tragic death linked to Fireworks.
The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland ( RZSS ) has expressed concern this month following the death of a three-month-old red panda called Roxie at Edinburgh Zoo on Bonfire Night.Ā
Ā
Vets believe that Roxieās death was caused by her reaction to fireworks in the area. While Roxie had access to her den, the noise from fireworks local to the Zoo appeared to cause her stress, and as a result, she choked on vomit and unfortunately passed away.Ā
Ā
While fireworks are an important part of celebrations, the debate over their impact on animals continues, with efforts to find a balance between enjoyment and animal welfare. This incident has brought more attention to the petition, which calls for stricter fireworks regulations.

Two people have been arrested after an assault and firework attack on a house in the Coney Hill area of Gloucester on the night. A group of men who were armed with a baseball bat were seen pushing fireworks through a letterbox of a house, shouting at the occupant.Ā
Ā
