Tarragona International Fireworks Competition 2018
The competition will take place from July 4th to July 7th. At the time of writing, the information regarding the participating teams was not yet announced. However, the competition has drawn in some great firework companies in recent years so it’s going to be an epic competition for sure. Here’s a clip from a display from 2015 to get you in the mood for fireworks.
The participating groups will perform their displays, which are required to combine music and fireworks. The winner will be chosen by a jury appointed by the City Council, and they will receive a lovely prize for their efforts. When judging the teams, the jury will take into account things like firework height, velocity and colour. In addition, the winning team gets to perform at the Santa Tecla Festival later in the year. This is another traditional and popular festival in Spain. The Santa Tecla Festival will take place on September 23rd.
The displays will take place near the city’s stunning waterfront. The Playa del Miracle beach offers a beautiful backdrop for the displays. Each display has historically started after 10 pm – be sure to get there on time, as around 60,000 visitors are expected to wander on the streets of Tarragona during the festivities.
