We recently looked ahead to the upcoming Philippine International Pyromusic Competition 2016. To carry on our theme of looking forward to the various amazing fireworks festivals and competitions that are held around the world, this time featuring the Courchevel International Festival of Pyrotechnic Art 2016, which takes place in the beautiful ski resort from which it takes its name – Courchevel – from February 11th to March 3rd.
About the Courchevel Fesitval of Pyrotechnic Art
The Courchevel Festival of Pyrotechnic Art was founded in March 2003 and has taken place annually since. It is thought to be the only fireworks festival out of the many that take place across Europe throughout the year that enjoys the backdrop of snowy mountains and ski runs.
One of the massive benefits of the location is that all the fireworks companies can perform together, with the drawing of lots used to determine which fireworks company enjoys access to each level on the mountainside. Each year, the pyrotechnic companies that enter the festival must work to a pre-defined theme for the competition.
