The second instalment of Firework Champions 2016 takes place at Stanford Hall, Rugby, this weekend. Last weekend saw the opening of Firework Champions 2016 at Newby Hall in Ripon, Yorkshire, and we’ll be looking at getting some video content up highlighting the fantastic displays in the coming weeks, hopefully having both a preview and review of each competition by the end of the summer.
Here’s everything you need to know about Saturday 30th July’s event.
Stanford Hall
Stanford Hall is just a short drive away from Rugby and is found in a beautiful location on the banks of the River Avon.
The gates for this event open at 5pm on Saturday, although if you’re planning to make a night of it and camp on-site you can arrive from 4pm.
At the time of publication, digital tickets were still available from the Firework Champions website, and you’ll save £2 on the price of a ticket if you pre-book, though you’re more than welcome to turn up and pay on the gate should this be easier for you to do.
If you’re planning on taking the kids along with you to Stanford Hall, you’ll find plenty to do prior to the show beginning, including a selection of fairground rides. There’s also a wide range of food and drink stalls available for you to grab something to eat.
Prior to the show, hosts MLE Pyrotechnics will be carrying out a demonstration showcasing how a pyromusical performance is put together. Following the final competition entry MLE Pyrotechnics will also be conducting their usual display.
Who’s Performing?
The following three fireworks teams are performing at Stanford Hall.
Gala Fireworks
Gala Fireworks, from Northampton, are taking part in their fourth Firework Champions competition, but their first one at Stanford Hall. Gala’s client list for firework displays includes Paramount Pictures, Norfolk Constabulary, and Aviva.
Cotswold Fireworks
This is also the fourth time Cotswold Fireworks has been present at Firework Champions, and the first time at Stanford Hall since 2004. Cotswold Fireworks have performed for a wide range of clients, from local primary schools around their Cirencester base to Breitling, Craft Foods, and the Ministry of Defence Bomb Disposal Unit.
Shockwave Pyrotechnics
Shockwave Pyrotechnics won Firework Champions Stanford Hall last time they were present at the venue in 2014, while their overall event record reads two wins and three runners-up placings.
