EVENT INSURANCE
DO I NEED INSURANCE TO HAVE A FIREWORK PARTY?
Â
We often get asked if you need insurance to have a firework party or firework event at home and whilst we’re not experts on the ins and outs of individual home insurance policies generally speaking If you are holding a firework party at home and you invite a few friends and family over, then your home insurance would cover you should anything go awry.
Â
HOWEVER. If you charge people to attend your firework party or if members of the public can attend (people you don’t know) then it becomes a commercial venture and you DO need insurance. Even if it’s for charity!
Â
If you’re holding an event for an association such as the parrish council, scouts, village committee etc, you may already have insurance that covers you for events such as your summer fete, inflatable day, christmas fayre etc and it would be wise to check with your current insurer if they already cover firework displays, if not they may be able to offer add on cover for your firework display.
After so many enquiries for help we went on the search for companies that could help and came across UK General Insurance who provide cover for a whole host of different events such as Dog Shows, Street Parties, Festivals and Exhibitions, but they also provide some excellent cover for one off events and more specifically Firework Displays / Events.
Â
They offer a range of policies and their quick questionnaire will ensure you get the right cover for your event. Clicking on the following link will take you to their webpage where you can see the huge variety of events they cover and also message them for a quote.
Please note. We’re not insurance experts and recommend that you contact your home insurer to check that you’re covered for your home firework display. If you go on to take out a policy with UK General Insurance, Firework Crazy will receive a referral fee.
