A surefire way to know summer is beginning is when Firework Champions draws closer. As always, the annual festivities will feature stunning firework shows in six beautiful locations across the UK.
We here at Fireworks Crazy love a good firework display and a friendly competition so we can’t wait to see what happens at these events! If you want to do something fun this summer, we definitely recommend attending one of these events.
The first competition will kick off at Newby Hall on July 21st. Here is everything you need to know about the competition and how you can get involved.
The Competition Format
The competition follows the same format to previous years. Each night three teams will be competing for the top spot with a 10-minute fireworks show. The display must combine fireworks with music.
Members of the public can vote for their favourite performance using their mobile phones. So the power to decide the winner is in the hands of the audience – which makes it even better to win!
Each event will also feature a longer, closing display. This is performed by MLE Pyrotechnics. The display group is internationally acclaimed and they are always good at adding plenty of sparkle to each event.
Firework Champions 2018 Newby Hall
The first installation of Firework Champions takes place in the beautiful gardens of Newby Hall. This country house is the perfect embodiment of the Georgian ‘Age of Elegance’ and its interior has been designed by Robert Adams.
You’ll be able to follow the show in the award-winning gardens. If you attend with smaller members of the family, the Adventure Garden for children will surely keep them busy before the actual displays. For others, there will be food stalls, musical performances and other fun things to do.
The competition will take place on July 21st and the gates open for entry at 5 pm.
Who’s performing?
As mentioned, each Firework Champions event will feature three magnificent performances. Newby Hall will feature fireworks displays by:
Blaze Fireworks
The performance will be the first at Firework Champions for the group. Blaze Fireworks has been operating since 2014 and the company director has said the Newby Hall display will be the biggest they’ve ever made!
Blitz Fireworks
Blitz Fireworks is a seasoned performer at Firework Champions. The group is a five-time winner so they are guaranteed to put on a great show this year as well.
Spectrum Fireworks
Spectrum Fireworks will also make its debut this year. The group has worked with companies like the BBC, Sky, the Royal Air Force and with performers like Tinie Tempah.
How To Get Involved
Newby Hall is located in Ripon, Yorkshire. There is a campsite available and you can stay in many of the multiple hotels in the local area. To find out more about the accommodation options and to book tickets to the event, you should visit the official Firework Champions website.
We’ll also be reviewing the shows on our website and social media, in case you can’t make it to Newby Hall in July. There are also five other events to attend and you can find out more about those later in our blog!
