British Musical Fireworks Championships 2019

One of the country’s best occasions to witness stunning fireworks is upon us. The British Musical Fireworks Championships 2019 is happening at the end of September, with tickets available to purchase right now!

The Dates for the British Musical Fireworks Championship 2019

Southport’s beautiful Victoria Park has been the host for the competition for a long time and the lovely seaside resort will once again witness the amazing fireworks event. The competition runs for three nights:

  • Friday 27 September with two displays.
  • Saturday 28 September with three performances.
  • Sunday 29 September with two displays.

Each night, the first fireworks display takes place at 8 pm, the rest following in 30-minute intervals. Each performance lasts about 15 minutes.

Of course, the British Musical Fireworks Championships event is much more than just great fireworks. There will be lots of things happening across the city, as well as in Victoria Park.

Who is Taking Part in 2019?

Seven teams will be competing in the British Musical Fireworks Championships 2019, with last year’s winner Illusion Fireworks starting the show with an exhibition display. The competing teams in 2019 so far announced are:

  • Phoenix Fireworks on Friday.
  • Magic & Miracle, G2 Fireworks and Distant Thunder on Saturday.
  • Pyro 2000 and 1st Galaxy on Sunday.

Each team has to produce a show lasting 15-minutes, combining lights, fireworks and music. Teams use 5 kilometres of wire and around 15 technicians to help organise the stunning displays. You can get a glimpse of what’s to come from the below video from last year:

Where to Get Tickets?

The best way to enjoy the British Musical Fireworks Championships 2019 is to buy a ticket to Victoria Park. You’ll be guaranteed to see the show and enjoy all the other pre-display entertainment as well.

Tickets are currently available online, with an early bird weekend discount ticket costing just £21. General Admission is £7 for Friday and Sunday, and £9 for Saturday. There are also seated tickets available, which are £20 for Friday and Sunday, and £25 for Saturday. Group tickets are available for cheaper and children under 5 years can attend free.

The tickets tend to sell out quickly so you want to buy them as soon as possible. You can purchase tickets online and if any are left, at the gate. Last year, Saturday sold out online and you weren’t able to buy tickets at the gate – so act quickly!

To get your hands on the tickets, follow this link.

Because fireworks can only be set off in safe weather conditions, be aware that the event could be cancelled to guarantee safety.

Fireworks Fun to Start the Countdown to the Year’s Firework Season

The British Musical Fireworks Championships is an event like no other. It’s also the kickstart to an autumn calendar full of great fireworks. Soon you’ll have Halloween and Bonfire Night, and before we know it we’ll be into the winter and looking forward to Christmas and New Year!

So, if you are looking for a way to have a good time, consider heading out to Southport for the last weekend of September. The British Musical Fireworks Championships 2019 is bound to be a cracker!
