British Musical Fireworks Championships 2016

The next event on the fireworks competitions agenda for 2016 is the British Musical Firework Championships.

What are the British Musical Fireworks Championships?

There’s no mystery as to what the event is – the clue is definitely in the title with this one. The British Musical Fireworks Championships are another exciting pyromusical event, this one taking place in Southport.
This event is one of the best attended and supported of all the firework events that take place through the year, including the British Firework Championships and Firework Champions.
The preview video below sets the scene brilliantly for this year’s event, which takes place over the weekend of 30th September to 2nd October.

Last year’s winners were the team from F1 Pyro, who wowed the crowds and the judges with the below display.

With F1 Pyro not attending this year’s British Musical Fireworks Championships, there is an opportunity for another fantastic pyrotechnic team to take away the prize.

Firework Teams Competing at the British Musical Fireworks Championships 2016

This year’s event sees two teams per night on the Friday and Sunday, with three teams competing on the Saturday evening. Many of the teams have been present at Firework Champions or the British Firework Championships, with some walking away from those events as winners.
This is going to be a serious weekend of firework fun in the north west!
Which firework teams are competing?
On Friday 30th September, Bristol based Skyburst and Impact Pyrotechnics, from Tyne & Wear, will be firing their displays.
They are followed on Saturday 1st October by the pyrotechnic teams from Wigan’s Phenomenal Fireworks, Peterborough’s PDC Fireworks, and Bright Sparks from Wrexham.
Closing the event on Sunday 2nd October are Essex Pyrotechnics, based in Newport near Saffron Walden, and Lightech, from Congleton in Cheshire.

Tickets for the British Musical Firework Championships 2016

Check the Visit Southport website though, as seated tickets are only available in advance. If you’re happy to stand then you can simply turn up on the day and buy a ticket at the gate.
We also suggest you keep up to date by following the event’s Facebook page if you might be interested in attending.
